Here is what some of our students think about the current course...

"The course is practical, there’s an emphasis on learning by doing. Whether it be building circuitry, operating specialised equipment, or using various software. I found that it’s an intuitive way to understand certain principles, especially with the electronics side of the course.

One of the best things the course offers is the project module, which gives you the opportunity to be innovative around the broad area of audiovisual media technology. My final year project delved into elements of assistive technology and programming. It’s great that the module is flexible enough not to limit the potential of student projects. The lecturers are very approachable, and they always make time to help you out.

The campus has a pleasant and lively atmosphere, there’s always a familiar face to be seen. The various clubs and societies make it easy to meet new people who share your interests. The Chapel is a great place to hang out or to catch some live music.

After graduating, I decided to do the Digital Media Systems degree that complimented the skills I learnt during AVMT. The experience I’ve received throughout the years here at IADT helped me collate an invaluable portfolio, which will no doubt help with employment or further education prospects."

From a fourth year student:

“I have choosen this course because I had an interest in audio visual systems, computer applications such as photoshop and audio editing softwares and wanted more knowledge on this subject matter.

I like all aspects of my course. I find it all very interesting from the electronic engineering to the video/audio editing. I've always had an interest in music and all the equipment involved in it and always wanted to know how amplifiers, effects pedals and all that equipment worked and through this course I've gained the knowledge needed to know on how they operate. I've also being interested in photoshop and video editing and this course showed me how to operate these softwares.

It's a very interesting course that offers students many oppertunities to branch out to many different fields of the course."
